Staff Attorney
About us:
Everyday there are families afraid of losing their homes, children afraid of losing parents to jail, and parents afraid of losing children to divorce. They deserve robust legal protection. ACLC makes quality legal representation available to families who would not otherwise have access to it. We also work to advance socioeconomic and racial equity through impact litigation, policy advocacy, and supporting community groups.

Job Responsibilities:

Representing clients in state court.

Supervising and supporting paralegals.

Full time schedule with occasional evening and weekend hours.

Attorney will specialize in one or more practice areas.

A substantial part of our practice helps survivors of domestic violence and abuse with family law matters.

Depending on the attorney’s interest, the caseload could expand to include other types of law we practice, including housing, tenants-rights, criminal defense, probate, or civil rights litigation.

Qualifications:

Attorneys must be licensed in Texas and familiar with family law practice in Texas courts.

A demonstrated interest in economic, social, and racial justice.

Fluency in Spanish or another second language is desirable but not mandatory.

$64,200 annual salary.

Office: Our staff began working remotely when the COVID pandemic began, and we expect that will continue indefinitely. You will not be required to come into the office.

Court: the staff attorney must be available to appear at in-person courts settings in Travis, Hays, Williamson, and Bastrop counties.
